Arnold Palmer's Bay Hill Club & Lodge, Orlando, Florida

On Sunday Tiger Woods regained his world number one status when he won the Arnold Palmer Invitational at Arnold Palmer's Bay Hill Club & Lodge. This week’s course review takes a look at the superb golf offering at this prestigious resort.

Located in Orlando, Florida, in the vicinity of Disneyworld, The Bay Hill resort is still owned by its founder, golfing legend Arnold Palmer, who lives at the resort during the winter months. The resort features an 18-hole championship course, a luxurious lodge, and various amenities including a spa. The resort also includes an award-winning pro shop, a tennis club which offers pro lessons, and several fine restaurants.

Golfers will be particularly interested in the Arnold Palmer Golf Academy, a training facility for players of all skill levels that was designed by Palmer himself and continues to offer training in line with the former champion’s approach to golf.

The Arnold Palmer's Bay Hill Club & Lodge is a private golf course and is available to members, residents of Bay Hill, and hotel guests. The Arnold Palmer's Bay Hill Club & Lodge has full details on how to book.

27 Holes of Great Golf

The pristine 18-hole championship course at Bay Hill is spread over 270 acres of land just ashore of the Butler Chain of Lakes. With excellent weather most months of the year, Bay Hill provides an excellent weekend away for golfers with plenty of activities for non-golfers in the vicinity. Here are some highlights of the golf course:

  • The par 5 fourth and sixteenth holes provide golfers with great birdie opportunities, provided that players lay-up correctly with conservative tee shots.
  • The third and sixth holes are set on opposite sides of a round lake, providing both a scenic backdrop and a water hazard that calls for careful approach shots on these holes.
  • The final hole is flanked by a large lake on the right, with three bunkers guarding the green. If played well, this hole can provide a scenic ending to any round of golf.
